In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

3 reasons to book
  • Right by the Grand Bazaar and the tram — A five-minute walk to the T1 tram stop and close to a Grand Bazaar entrance, with the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia and Basilica Cistern about 15 minutes on foot.
  • Staff are a genuine highlight — Guests repeatedly mention friendly, helpful staff, from the reception to the manager, who give useful advice and speak multiple languages.
  • Clean, spacious rooms for the price — Rooms are described as clean, comfortable and recently renovated, with some having extra space for luggage.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Rooms are basic, not luxurious — The hotel is positioned as a place to drop your bags and go – expect function over frills.
  • Comfort rating is notably lower — Guests rate the general comfort lower than other aspects, so temper expectations on the beds and amenities.
  • A steep street to reach the hotel — The approach involves a slope that some guests mention, though it is not far from the main road.

“Staff were friendly and the position was handy, close to the main attractions.”

8.2Verified guest

“The location was excellent, right near a Grand Bazaar entrance and Beyazit monorail. In 15 minutes we walked to the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Basilica Cistern and so on. The room was spacious, not fancy, but a decent spot to leave your bags and head out.”

8.2Verified guest

“Conveniently placed near the Grand Bazaar, it is a great starting point for exploring Istanbul's lively streets. The metro and tram are also close by, making getting around easy.”

8.2Verified guest

“As I had been to Istanbul before, I knew it was a bit of a walk (15-20 minutes or one metro stop) to Aya Sofia, but only five minutes from a Grand Bazaar entrance and Beyazit Metro. That was fine for us. I came with a friend and asked for a twin, but they only had a family room, which they gave us at the twin price – one double and three singles, so four beds for two people. If you want a place only to sleep and don't mind walking, this is fine. Breakfast was typically Turkish (yoghurt, vegetables, olives, cheese, bread) and tasty. There was always someone who spoke English.”

8.2Verified guest

“The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready to assist. The room was spacious, which made the stay comfortable. The location was practical, with easy access to nearby sights and public transport.”
